At each rpm increment, the following data will be collected, if possible: rpm, boat speed, oil temperature, coolant temperature, engine oil pressure, engine oil temperature, transmission oil pressure, crankcase pressure, exhaust back pressure, and turbo boost pressure.

Surveys typically include the structure, machinery and equipment (navigational, safety, radio). Marine surveyors also are involved in other aspects, including confirming compliance with international treaties associated with such things as pollution, international security, and safety management schemes.

Our Accredited Marine Surveyor (AMS) members must have a minimum of 5 years experience and must pass a written examination by our testing committee in order to earn his or her AMS credential. They must also meet continuing education requirements in order to maintain that credential.
