Create and modify groups. To add a group in Linux, use the groupadd command: $ sudo groupadd demo. Change the group ID. You can change the group ID of any group with the groupmod command and the --gid or -g option: $ sudo groupmod -g 1011 demo1. Rename a group. Add and remove users from a group. Delete a group.

Steps to Follow ➊ At first, press CTRL+ALT+T to open the Ubuntu Terminal. ➋ Run the previously written script by simply typing the file name. ➌ Type the number of users you want to create and hit ENTER. In this example, I will add 2 new users to my system.

To create a new group in Linux, follow these steps: Use the groupadd command. Replace newgroup with the name of the group you want to create. Confirm by checking the /group/etc file (for example, grep software /etc/group or cat /etc/group). Run the grep command to confirm.

Add a new user account Open the Activities overview and start typing Users. Click on Users to open the panel. Press Unlock in the top right corner and type in your password when prompted. Press the + Add User

Create a user group From your desktop, click People user groups at the top of your left sidebar. Click New User Group in the top right. Choose a name and handle for your user group. Click Next. Under Add members, search for and select the members youd like to add. When youre done, click Create Group.

To switch user, click on the system menu, typically located at the top right corner of your screen. Choose the user icon. Other option is to select either another user to switch directly (if available) or choose Power Off/ Log Out return to the login screen.
