Effortlessly make your basic CMS website that reflects your brand

You donʼt need CMS unless youʼre managing content (something like a blog where youʼd need a ton of different pages to display content thatʼs formatted exactly the same way). As long as you have a paid account, arenʼt using CMS, and can download your code, you can host it anywhere that supports HTML/CSS/JS.

Planning Your CMS Define Features: List the features you want in your CMS, such as a user login, content editor, file manager, etc. Database Structure: Plan the structure of your database. Typically, youʼll need tables for users, posts, and settings.

To get started with the CMS: Go to your Editor. Click CMS on the left side of the Editor. Click Start Now or Add to site. Select an option: Start with a preset: Choose and customize a layout that comes with a collection and dynamic pages. Learn more about adding collection presets.

From the Digital Experiences Home tab, click Create a CMS Workspace or Add Workspace. If the preference Create both CMS workspaces and enhanced CMS workspaces is enabled, select CMS Workspace or Enhanced CMS Workspace. Add an existing channel, or create one for the workspace, and click Next.

In contrast, a CMS or Content Management System, is a piece of software that allows you to store, manage and publish said web pages. Most websites use a content management system, but you could make one without a CMS, writing directly in a programming language like HTML and CSS.

Formatting a Title Page The title should be centered one-third of the way down the page. Your name and class information should follow several lines later. For subtitles, end the title line with a colon and place the subtitle on the line below the title. Include your name, class information, and date.

Open-source CMS platforms like WordPress are free but may require hosting and plugin costs ($50$500/year). Cloud-based solutions like Shopify or Webflow range from $10 to $500/month, while enterprise-level CMS platforms like Adobe Experience Manager can cost $10,000+ per year.

Building your own CMS is a massive task so donʼt be surprised if you fail, writing a good one takes years but it is a great tool for learning how to build a working product, especially if you have a test suite that can prove you have not broken functionality.
