Every file and directory also has attributes that describe its owner, size, access permissions, and other information. You can get information about a directory itself using the -d option. If you do not specify any options, ls displays only the file names. Create a directory The basic syntax for using this command is mkdir {dir} (replace {dir} with the desired name of your directory). Before creating any directory or file, remember that most Linux filesystems are case-sensitive.
