In the filter navigator, go to Standard Change All Templates. Select a template from the list and open it. Click on the link Modify Template to open a Standard Change Template Proposal. Add a description and a new field/value to the template, then click Save.

Name a leader and define clear roles and responsibilities for team members. Appoint a team leader so the team knows who is in charge when there is a serious incident. Document each team members responsibilities. Plans should be in place to respond to as many foreseeable events as possible.

Navigate to Tables Change Request and select New. Choose Change Request in the Table field. Choose Reference in the Type field. Under the Reference Specification tab you will need to build out your reference qualifier in order for ServiceNow to provide you with the correct templates once done.

Create an incident template Navigate to Incidents from the left sidebar. Click the Templates tab. Click Create template. Fill out the fields for this template which you can create incidents with. Click Create when youre satisfied with the templates details.

Navigate to Incident - Templates and click the New button at top of the list to create a new template. Templates can also be created by clicking the + icon within the Template Bar; see the Applying a template section below on how to toggle the template bar view.
