For those not familiar with the film, here’s a quick setup of the scene. A group of incredibly photogenic Austrian kids are hanging out with their cheery nanny, Maria, in an Alpine meadow above Salzburg. To fill the time, Maria has grabbed her guitar and is teaching the kids the basics of musical notation. It’s a cinematic moment that will either melt your heart or give you a cavity.
What makes the Sound of Music moment germane to this is, like the kids learning music, there are some marketers that need to start at the beginning when it comes to learning the terms, or notes, if you will, that make up this elaborate symphony of terms and acronyms that create this symphony we call Marketing.
