You donʼt copyright a video game idea. Make the game, release it, then make another one, better. You can copyright names, graphics (game characters and such), but you canʼt copyright ideas. Your assets are copyrighted anyways when you publish them, without even needing to do anything other than putting the (c) symbol.

The video game pitch typically includes a description of the game genre, story, setting, and gameplay mechanics, as well as any unique features or innovations that the game will offer. The pitch may also include concept art, gameplay footage, or other visual materials to help illustrate the gameʼs potential.

It is imperative for the pitch deck to include at least a brief project description, a couple of visual assets and concept arts, gameplay and mechanics explanations, a concise introduction of the team, a schedule, and a budget plan.

If that catches their interest, continue the pitch with 2 or 3 sentences that state what the game is, how itʼs played and another cool fact. 3. Then I end with the classic marketing ``offer to engageʼʼ with the product.

Inquire with the company first. Ask them if they want to hear your idea and offer to sign an NDA (nondisclosure agreement). If youʼre not interested in money or lawsuits, tell them in writing they can have your idea no strings attached if they want to use it. Donʼt just send the idea in unsolicited.

Use visual aids and demos to help illustrate your ideas and keep your audience engaged. Your pitch should include a clear marketing plan that outlines how you will promote your game and reach your target audience. Failing to have a clear marketing plan can make it difficult to convince investors.
